About Aligned Business Advisory

Built around a simple idea: important financial decisions should not happen in isolation.

Business owners make decisions that affect cash flow, taxes, operations, growth, and eventually their personal financial future. Yet the professionals advising those areas often see only one piece of the picture.

Aligned Business Advisory was built to bring those pieces into a more coordinated view.

Why ABA exists

Good advice can still lead to disconnected decisions.

An accountant may understand the tax return. A bookkeeper may understand the transactions. An advisor may understand the owner’s long-term goals. Each perspective matters.

The challenge begins when no one is responsible for seeing how those perspectives affect one another.

ABA exists to help business owners connect financial information, proactive tax strategy, strategic oversight, and long-term planning before consequential decisions are made.

Who is looking across the entire financial picture when your business makes an important decision?

How we think

Principles that keep the work focused on what matters.

  1. 01

    Alignment Over Activity

More reports, meetings, and recommendations do not automatically create better decisions. The work should move the financial pieces toward the same objective.

  2. 02

    Clarity Creates Leverage

Owners make stronger decisions when they understand what the numbers are telling them and how the pieces connect.

  3. 03

    Long-Term Thinking

A decision that works this quarter can still create problems later. Strategy should consider what the owner is ultimately building toward.

  4. 04

    Fiduciary First

Advice should begin with the client’s interests and remain grounded in what serves the business and owner—not what creates unnecessary activity.

  5. 05

    Precision Matters

Good strategy depends on reliable information, thoughtful analysis, and attention to the details that can materially change a decision.

Strategy Must Be Actionable

Insight has limited value if the owner cannot act on it. ABA’s work is designed to turn financial understanding into clear next steps.

Integrated by design

Four perspectives. One coordinated view.

  1. 01

    Financial Foundation

    Reliable information for better decisions.

  2. 02

    Proactive Tax Strategy

    Tax considerations before opportunities disappear.

  3. 03

    Strategic Oversight

Financial context for operating and growth decisions.

  4. 04

    Long-Term Planning

Business decisions connected to what the owner is building toward.

Leadership

Experience matters. Perspective matters more.

Hugo Cruz, Founder of Aligned Business Advisory

Hugo Cruz brings more than two decades of experience in financial services and advisory work to Aligned Business Advisory.

Throughout that time, he saw a recurring challenge among successful business owners: the business could be growing, operations could be stable, and all the expected financial professionals could be in place—yet the financial side of the company still felt fragmented.

The books were maintained. Tax returns were filed. Financial reports were produced. But owners were often left to determine for themselves how cash flow, profitability, tax decisions, business growth, and their long-term financial objectives fit together.

That gap is why Hugo founded Aligned Business Advisory.

ABA was designed to give owners a more coordinated financial perspective—bringing reliable financial information, proactive tax strategy, strategic oversight, and long-term planning into the same conversation.

Hugo works directly with business owners to better understand the financial structure of their companies, identify where greater clarity or coordination is needed, and evaluate important decisions with both the business and the owner’s longer-term objectives in view.

The objective isn’t simply better reporting or another set of recommendations. It’s to help owners move from reactive financial management to intentional financial strategy—with a clearer understanding of where the business stands, what deserves attention, and what they’re ultimately building toward.

Business and personal alignment

The business is part of a larger financial picture.

For many owners, the business is one of their most important financial assets. Decisions made inside the company can eventually affect personal wealth, retirement, liquidity, and family objectives.

ABA focuses on the business side of that picture.
